(v3.3) Plot Deck The plot deck may contain no more than one copy of any plot card. Thus, each plot deck will contain seven different plot cards. (v3.6) The Plot Card Used Pile After a plot is used, it is considered to be in the plot card "used pile". Plots in your plot deck, as well as your currently revealed plot card, are not considered to be in your used pile. During the game a plot card exists in one of three possible states: In your plot deck, in your used pile, or revealed. When a new plot card is revealed, the previous plot card is placed in the used pile. (v3.12) Plot Resolution Passive plots do not resolve before or after "when revealed" plot effects. All plot effects (passive or "when revealed") resolve in the order determined by the first player. For example, During the plot phase Darrin reveals Winter Has Come. His opponent, Tommy, reveals Safe Within the Walls. Darrin chooses to appoint Tommy as first player (yeah, he's rather stupid). As first player, Tommy chooses his plot Safe Within the Walls to resolve first. Then, Winter Has Come resolves, having no effect because all characters cannot be killed. |

Do Others plots that refer to Other plots in your used pile work when you reveal them as your 7th plot? I'd say no, because when the effect goes off all used plot cards are returned to your plot deck, aren't they? |

Here's how the plot "piles" work: There are 3 separate states for plot; your plot deck, your revealed plot, and your used pile. All plots must be in one or the other of these three states. - Your "plot deck" consists of the plots you brought to the game but have not played/used yet. - Your "revealed plot" is the last plot you flipped face-up in the plot phase and the one whose stats and text you are currently using, - Your "used pile" are the plots you brought to the game and have already been revealed. Plots move from the "plot deck" to the "revealed plot" during the plot phase. At the SAME TIME, the last "revealed plot" goes to the "used pile." The "used pile" is put back into your "plot deck" only when you need to REVEAL a plot and there are not cards in your plot deck. So, what that means for this question is that plots go from your "used pile" to your "plot deck" when you need to choose your 8th plot, NOT at the same time you reveal your 7th plot. Therefore, all 6 plots are in your used pile when you reveal your 7th and cound toward Others and Kingdom counts. |

What about cards that respond to "plots revealed". I know that you could use Illyrio's Estate only between both plot effects, not after the 2nd is resolved. But Deadly Seduction for example says "After plot cards are revealed", therefore refering to both plot cards. The templating is different from Illyrio's Estate's, so is the timing different as well? |

No. Timing is the same. All plots are revealed in the action window during which the FIRST plot card's text is resolved. So you resolve all passives and Responses (like Illyrio's Estate, Deadly Seduction, or Student of Coin) after the First Plot has resolved, but before the second plot initiates. |

Who has the first response to "plots revealed"? Since there is no "active player" or player who initiated an action window, I'd say the first player has the first response. On the other hand, you could argue that the player whose plot triggers first is kind of the active player (since all cards that response to plots revealed can only respond to the first plot revealed) and therefore the player left to the player whose plot goes off first has the first response. |

First response is always as follows: Player Action Windows: First response always goes to the player to the left of the person who took the action that opened the window. Framework Action Windows: First Player. (Not Active Player, First Player. This includes challenge resolution, even if the First Player is not the Active Player.) Since each plot's text is resolved in a Framework Action Window, the First Player always gets the first response. |

I have always played with the idea that at the end of your 7th round, or round that uses your 7th plot last, your six other plot cards are recycled but the most recently played plot card is the beginning of your new used pile. Now a NW has told me that all 7 cards are recycled at the end of the 7th plot's round, allowing for an "instant replay" of the plot you just played. Which playstyle is correct? |

Your NW is incorrect. The 7th plot revealed is not recycled with the rest of the used pile. To reiterate the above: Plots have 3 "states" 1) In the plot deck 2) Revealed 3) In the "used" pile You recycle all of the plots in the "used" pile to the plot deck when you need to reveal a new plot from an empty plot deck. Since plots do not go from "revealed" to "used" until a new plot is revealed, the plot from the 7th round is still revealed (and not in the "used" pile) when the recycle happens. |

You determine who the First Player is by counting up initiative. Whoever has the highest chooses who is First Player. That person gets the first action in all Player Action Windows until plots are next revealed. That means that for the Player Action Window before plots are revealed, the First Player from the LAST ROUND is still First Player (so gets the first action). (You are technically supposed to randomly choose a First Player for setup; that person would get the first action in that pre-plot window of the first round.) |

The 5K rules says that when you reveal the last plot, all the other plots in the used pile return to the plot deck. So, right now, if i reveal as the last plot "Winter has come" it doesn't have effect, because all the other "others" plot cards are now in the deck (and so it works also with kingdom plot cards). Is that true or is a ruling mistake? |

There is a clarification on plot rotation in the FAQ. Recycling the used pile to an empty plot deck is considered to be a PASSIVE GAME EFFECT activated by the resolution of your final plot. So when you reveal your final plot, you don't actually move the used pile to your plot deck until AFTER that final plot has been resolved. So if your final plot is "Winter Has Come," you don't move all your used plots back to the plot deck until after you check to see how many Others plots are in your used pile and the plot will thus have an effect. |
